Why are Laguna Agates SO rare?

There are a variety of reasons, including limited mining locations, the difficulty of extraction, and the high demand for their unique and vibrant colours and patterns! The deposits are relatively small and have been largely mined out, making the rough material increasingly scarce. Additionally, the harsh environment where they are found, combined with the tough andesite rock containing the agates, makes extraction laborious and expensive.
